Mantrics Ingest Task

Ingest is the entry point of your content into the MANTRICS Workflow Manager solution. When a file is stored , or even at a later stage, the descriptive and technical metadata necessary to identify and locate content is logged. This includes material such as audio, video, data or any other content resident in a broadcast infrastructure.

Material can be ingested from various sources, reflecting the emergence of different types of content providers. MANTRICS can acquire your contents from a large variety of devices, such as VTR/VCR, Camera, Live feeds, Watch Folders and also allowing DWE (Decode-While-Encode).

All kinds of formats can be ingested by MANTRICS. In particular, the industry standard formats such as:

  • compressed formats, e.g. MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1, DV25/50/100, P2, IMX
  • uncompressed formats , e.g. SDI, HDMI, analog
  • all the available wrappers, e.g. MXF, AVI, MOV

Moreover, user-generated video (UGV), also referred to as viewer-generated programming (VGP), is becoming an increasingly prevalent source for content, especially for news. This introduces HDV and other compression formats into those already supported by MANTRICS.

Supporting the move to increased production delocalization, MANTRICS enables content to be ingested from different ingest points, and the process can be consulted from anywhere and at anytime, Moreover, the user may preview the ingested content, enhancing the process control.
